The Secretary’s report was approved with the correction of the May Workshop date. The workshop is Thursday and Friday, May 19th and 20th.

Treasurer Kris O’Day report that at the beginning of month we had $6,259.83. $76.00 was deposited (a challenge pattern and linen) Checks were written for $65.00 for meeting expenses. The current balance is $6,270.83.

Old Business: May Workshop. The May workshop is being held at The First Congregational Church in Wisconsin Rapids on May 19th and May 20th. The sign up sheet was passed around and the workshop is now full. Final information about food, etc. will be talked about at the May meeting. If you haven’t paid please send your check to Sandy. The cost is $40.00. Further information about the workshop as to what we need to bring will be coming soon.

Hook-In: A discussion was held on the unloading and parking areas at the hook-in. It was suggested we use our hooked map “Heart of Wisconsin” to indicate which entrance to enter for registration. Good signage will be needed for the unloading and parking area.

Mary Jo read the committees for the hook-in that still need workers. The sign up sheet was sent around for members to sign up in those areas. If you haven’t volunteered for a committee for the hook-in, please do so at the May meeting.

A discussion was held on the subject of a mini workshop during the hook-in. The members voted that instead of having a mini workshop we should ask our vendors if they would like to do a 10 minute “Hot Tip Demo” before the whole group. This could be a new product or kit they would like to introduce to the group and might have for sale in their booth. We could have up to five “Hot Tip Demos”. The announcement of the winners of the Silent Auction would follow these “Hot Tip Demos”.

New Business: Margaret Grundeen reported on the publicity for the hook-in. Cards telling about the Hook-in have been printed. Ruth Johnson will take them to the “Cream City Hook-in” and Pat Boesel will take them to three Hook-Ins in the area of western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota. Pat has created our Web Page and the site is: www.heartofwisconsinrughookingguild.org THANK YOU Pat for a great Web Site. Pat will be telling us more about the web site at our May meeting

Friendship Rug: Members that were participating in the Friendship Rug were asked to draw their pattern on each other’s rugs.

White Linen: A discussion was held on what to do with the remainder of the white linen that the guild owns. Kris will look to see how much we have left and contact Louise Budde to see if she is interested in purchasing the remaining amount of the white linen. Members that are hooking on it have expressed they do not care for it.

Margaret reminded us that she had the library at the meeting and encouraged us to check out books. The list of our library books is on our web site. Contact Margaret if their is a book you wish her to bring to a meeting.
